Update on the Nation of Immigrants Project

May 22, 2008

The May 25 performance of The Nation of Immigrants Project has been replaced with an exciting new event:

Sunday, May 25, 2 PM

Shirlington Library

Bridge of Bodies written and performed by Kathleen Gonzales.

The Shirlington Library presents a sneak-peak of excerpts from this new work, which premieres at Flashpoint in Washington, DC on May, 29 and runs through June 15.

The Bridge of Bodies, written and preformed by Kathleen Gonzales and directed by Patrick Crowley, is the story of Marie-Therese who immigrated to the US from Haiti as a child. As she matures Marie-Therese realizes that she must return to her native Haiti in search of her true identity. During her journey she meets many characters who each hold a piece to the puzzle of her past.

Drawn from personal experiences, Haitian-born actress and playwright, Kathleen Gonzales creates an intimate portrait of Haiti’s troubled past, as well as the mystery and legend of its rich cultural landscape.
